Grandin Green #1

Project Date: June 2015

Project Price: more than $100,000

We had an excellent experience with Paul and his team at Contact. From our first meeting to discuss project scope and expectations through to the final touch-ups, we felt very comfortable with Contact. They were able to accommodate unique building security considerations throughout the project and dealt with multiple constituencies with great professionalism and courtesy. We did not have prior experience with renovations and Paul was very patient in helping us through the initial planning process. He has a good way of pitching concepts and ideas balanced with practical considerations. Paul has a very good eye for detail and design, and came up with excellent suggestions/solutions for all aspects of our condo renovation. Contact also is tech savvy so it was handy to use Houzz and texting/email to stay on top of the details and process. It felt to us as if the people at Contact were as excited about our renovations as we were. We are very happy with the end result and we would not hesitate to recommend Paul and his team.

Complete kitchen renovation in high rise condo. During demolition extra care was taken to maintain a clean environment at all times. Impressed with all the sub trades and personnel provided by Paul Foster. End product met with our complete satisfaction. Would recommend and endorse their workmanship to anyone considering renovations.

Osborne Crescent

Project Date: February 2016

Project Price: more than $100,000

Complete renovation of house including all flooring, kitchen, four season sunroom, electrical, master bathroom, plumbing, etc. Absolutely amazing service, professional and responsive staff/owner. Paul and his crew encountered several unforeseen challenges during our Reno - their advice and approach was always well explained and appropriate. Their updates and information kept us well informed and confident our project was in the right hands. The work quality is top notch and the results look amazing - no one can believe it's the same house.

Rio Terrace

Project Date: September 2015

Project Price: more than $100,000

After a lengthy search and interview process we hired Contact to complete the extensive renovations to our 1970's basement.

Although the basement was considered "finished" it was very outdated and required a complete demolition and remodel. The project started with bare concrete walls & floors. In addition to the more traditional elements involved in basement renovations, our design required moving the mechanical room (furnace, water, etc) across the basement, adding a window and enlarging the existing windows as well as redoing all plumbing & duct work. To add to Contact's challenges, we also lived in the upstairs of our home with our two young children for the 3+ months of construction.

Paul's (Contacts owner) focus and attention to our project did not change from our initial meeting until the project was complete. If we had questions or concerns Paul addressed/answered those within 24hrs. Although Contact employed a number of sub-trades we always felt that Paul had the work well coordinated and that our interests were first and foremost.

When changes were required or requested Paul would provide a couple of options with the pros & cons each. In one instance when a piece of work was not completed as designed, once identified the error was correct ASAP with no questions asked. Paul's employees and trades treated our house and property with respect throughout the construction process.

We have a basement that looks great and just as importantly, is incredibly well built. Today, 8 months after completion, we have had no issues with any of the work, giving us piece of mind that we hired the right contractor.

When we started thinking about finishing our basement, we wanted to ensure that the finishing’s were high quality to match the rest of our home. We interviewed three companies before deciding to proceed with Contact. Paul was very timely in providing an estimate, and he noted a number of ideas which saved some money, and others which enhanced the plans.

In terms of execution, Paul was very close to the estimated timeline, and kept in touch with us to ensure that we had as much input as possible in decision making. He was surprisingly responsive to texts, calls and emails, and he comes across as being truly dedicated to ensuring that his customers are satisfied with the end product. We were impressed with his employees, who noted a few minor household repairs that were needed, and then proceeded to do them for us.

We had no concerns with the trustworthiness of Contact's employees or subcontractors. Not only would we recommend them, we are planning our next renovation (bathroom) with the intention of dealing exclusively with Paul and his team at Contact.

Pleasantview Secondary Suite

Project Date: October 2015

Project Price: more than $100,000

When we were looking for a company to convert our unfinished basement into an in-law suite we were very apprehensive about just going with anyone. We wanted a company that we could work with and trust to deliver the job and also help realize our vision. Our basement suite renovation for us was quite extensive because we wanted to put in a separate exterior entrance into the suite. The thought of cutting into our existing foundation to do this was very unnerving. We had heard about Paul Foster and Contact Renovations from friends of ours who also hired them to renovate their home. There reno was also a big job and very nicely done so I was confident that they could handle it. We also had the chance to view the work and were very impressed with the job.

Once we met with Paul face to face we realized right away he was not like other contractors. He was very personable and sincere, he took his time going through our project and our concerns. I liked that fact that he was interviewing us as much as we were interviewing him. That shows us he cares about who he works for/with and the overall project....not just a paycheck. This is evident in the quality of work.

Once we hired Paul and his crew were very happy with the work and communication. I could always get a hold of him and he always had time to answer our questions. Things were completed on time and if they weren't right they would make them right. In addition, because we were living in our home during the time of construction Paul and his crew were very respectable to our privacy and family. Always informing if things were needed to be done outside the regular work day with good communication.

We are very happy with the completed basement, it’s incredibly beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Paul and his crew exceeded our expectations and I can honestly say I am very particular person and may not be the easiest person to work with. I would hire Contact again and recommend them for any home renovation.

Surrey Gardens

Project Date: May 2016

Project Price: $50,000 - $100,000

I had a major renovation of my condo (all floors replaced, kitchen cabinetry, every door in my space was replaced, bathroom shower & bath all replaced, fireplace customized with beautiful marble surface, all walls and ceilings painted…just to name a few of the major components of this renovation). Paul and his crew made the process as stress free as a renovation can be, they provided me with guidance and recommendations when I had trouble deciding what I wanted (often) and they treated my home like it was their own. The end result is absolutely spectacular, I could not be happier. Outstanding company, incredible service. Best choice I made was hiring Contact Renovations!

Thanks to Contact Renovations my little condo feels like a palace.

The Hamptons

Project Date: March 2016

Project Price: $50,000 - $100,000

Paul at Contact helped bring our vision into reality. He took an unfinished basement and turned it into the highlight of the house. He had a lot of great suggestions and was always up front about what it would do to the final cost of the project, which made it easy to choose our path forward.

The trades were all polite, very clean and had excellent workmanship. Best of all the project was complete ahead of the time frame he provided us. Any minor deficiencies we found even after the fact were addressed right away.

Aspen Gardens

Project Date: October 2014

Project Price: more than $100,000

Overall a very positive experience and we are very happy with the end product. The entire Contact team was very professional and seemed really focused on getting the job done on time and on budget, and to a high standard (the project site leader was very meticulous about doing the work right). In the end we were essentially on budget (allowing for a few changes throughout, based on what we found during the demolition phase) and on time. The sub-contractors that they involved were also very good.

One of the really great benefits of working with Contact was that the team (especially the owner Paul Foster) provided a lot of great design input. As a result, the bathrooms in particular are really quite spectacular - much better than we had originally envisioned.

In terms of the financial end of things, we found the cost very reasonable, and more importantly the transparency was amazing. We were provided with extremely detailed quotes and invoices, which allowed us to track the costs down to the penny (there were occasional minor mistakes, which I'd imagine there are on all large projects, but the transparency enabled us to quickly identify them, and Contact was very good about making corrections).

Contact was also very good about guaranteeing their work. Once the project was finished, they were quite good at sending teams out in a timely fashion to correct deficiencies, and to continue this until we (and they) were satisfied.

After comparing 'reno stories' with several friends, we felt that we really lucked out with this company. So often it seems that the reno process is overwhelming and stressful, and fraught with problems. Ours, on the other hand seemed at most times very smooth and in control. We felt at all times that ending up with a home that we all (our family and Contact) could be proud of was the number one priority.
